Scrum in practice - Mine4Scrum

Mine 4 Scrum is a virtual reality computer game where participants take on the role of Developers building SnowTown. Players have the opportunity to jointly plan their work with the Product Owner, experience self-organization, and enjoy completing the buildings and structures required by the investor. Training program

In the game, we can practice various variations, try to solve specific problems that the team experiences in their daily work. With Mine 4 Scrum, we can also safely practice planned organizational changes. That's why the workshops cover issues such as:

  •  Definition of Done - to better understand why DoD is important and the risks of not completing it
  • Refinement - Why it's important, how to do it right, and what happens when we start a Sprint without knowing enough about what needs to be done
  • Priority - Participants have the opportunity to experience working in an environment without priorities and with well-known priorities. Will you find at the end that you worked better and got more done with clear priors?
  • Flow - A workshop demonstrating the effects of optimizing for people utilization (everyone is busy) vs. optimizing for value delivery. Which approach will prove better?
  • Scrum Scaled  - The workshop will allow you to face the problem of scaling under safe conditions of computer games
  • Team Integration -A scenario with a strong emphasis on team collaboration requires efficient communication and building trust. Great for new teams or teams struggling with individualism (lack of willingness to cooperate)

behaviors
Scrum is based much more on behavior than on process. Proper behaviors allow for much faster and better adaptation of practices, tools, and techniques to a specific organization. During the Mine 4 Scrum workshops, we place a strong emphasis on exercising proper behaviors, which in turn will result in a better understanding of Scrum and its implementation in the organization.

communication styles
In Mine 4 Scrum, communication cannot be avoided, so during the game we pay attention to communication styles and encourage participants to evaluate the effectiveness of communication during their teamwork. The conclusions from the workshop summary can improve communication in the team's real-life challenges.

group process
Every group made up of several people working together for some time goes through similar stages, which we call group development phases. Mine 4 Scrum is such a stimulating experience for the team that it is able to quickly reach the level of constructive work.

dead Scrum
In many organizations, Scrum is just a set of roles and meetings played without much understanding of the purpose and meaning of each element of the framework. Mine 4 Scrum gives new meaning to each role and each event, highlighting what is most important in the Scrum being used.
